Integrate Calendly with Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Integrate Calendly with Pardot)

Calendly is a popular online scheduling platform that streamlines scheduling for individuals and teams. Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE, formerly known as Pardot) is a powerful marketing automation platform that integrates Salesforce with lead generation forms.

This article provides a walk-through for integrating MCAE with Calendly, using form handlers, without the need of a complex Salesforce flow, or 3rd party integration platform like Zapier.

Once the following steps have been completed correctly, you’ll be able to send the Calendly Event Name, Start and End Times, Invitee email (required), custom questions and more into your MCAE account anytime someone registers on your Calendly page!

Create a Form Handler

  1. Create a new form handler in Pardot. see create a form handler

Configure Calendly

  1. Within your Event in Calendly, change your ‘Confirmation Page’ settings to ‘Redirect to an external site’ on Confirmation.
  2. In the ‘Redirect URL*’ field, add your form handler.
  3. Select ‘Pass event details to your redirected page’ to true (checkbox should be checked)

Configure Form Handler

  1. Configure your MCAE/Pardot form handler external fields to the calendly data
  2. Your form handler will require an email field. This is the ‘invitee_email’ field.
  3. Custom questions are sent in order and follow the order they are displayed. The order of questions will determine the values being passed. (Example: answer_1, answer_2, answer_3, answer_4)
  4. We recommend creating the custom fields needed in Pardot to map the values from Calendly into your CRM.
  5. Here is an image of the query string parameters that are generated from the calendly confirmation page:

NOTE: The order of the fields in the form handler will not matter. However, it is important to make sure the ‘external field’ name matches the values created by Calendly for the redirect.

Once this has been completed successfully, your Calendly submissions will added to your Marketing Cloud Account Engagement account. You can configure your completion actions accordingly.

PRO TIP #1: Use Completions in your form handler to add prospects to the appropriate campaign, Assign prospects to users, add/remove prospects from lists, and send auto-responder emails from MCAE/Pardot.

PRO TIP #2: Use this method in conjunction with a Pardot form to capture abandonment. See video: Streamline Calendly Registrations from MCAE/Pardot Forms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jLoTDqu8UQ
